Malang City Government Encourages MSME Participation in Government Procurement of Goods and Services

Sukun (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Government through the Office of Cooperatives, Industry and Trade (Diskopindag) continues to encourage and support micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to participate directly in government procurement programs.

As one of its efforts, Diskopindag held a Technical Guidance on the Role of Micro Businesses in Government Procurement of Goods/Services at Ascent Premiere Hotel Malang City, Wednesday (19/6/2024). This is done in an effort to encourage as many micro business actors as possible to participate in the procurement of goods / services in the government.

“Today is a technical guidance for MSMEs so that they can carry out related government goods and services. The two-day implementation of this activity is expected to help MSMEs understand and follow the procedures for procuring goods and services in the government,” explained Acting Mayor of Malang Dr. Ir. Wahyu Hidayat, MM when giving a speech.

This technical guidance presents speakers from the Bureau of Goods / Services Procurement of the Regional Secretariat of East Java Province and the Malang City Goods and Services Procurement Service Section whose aim is to increase digital literacy and skills in micro-business actors so that they can compete in the ecosystem, especially in government goods / services providers.

“Participating in this will hopefully allow small and medium-sized enterprises to expand their production and distribution capabilities. Not only to consumers but also to participate in the procurement of goods and services in the government,” Wahyu further explained.

On this occasion the Malang City Diskopindag also handed over Brand Certificates to MSME players. This is a form of commitment by the City Government of Malang through Diskopindag as the leading sector in encouraging the economic growth of the city by stretching MSMEs, one of which is by facilitating licensing facilities such as brand certificates and others.

“This certificate is related to the brand, which has been submitted by MSMEs, we facilitate it and it is free. because with this brand certificate they can follow one of the requirements for government procurement of goods and services,” he concluded. (yul/yon)
