City Government Opens Door to Collaboration with Startups to Strengthen Digitalization

Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The Malang City Government opens space for discussion and collaboration with various stakeholders regarding the advancement of digitizing public services in Malang City. This was conveyed by the Head of the Aptika Division of the Communication and Information Technology Office (Diskominfo) of Malang City Pandu Zanuar Sulistyo during the sharing session ‘Malang’s Startup Leaders Talk & Demo Day’ at Indigo Space Malang, Friday (12/7/2024).

One of the challenges in implementing government digitalization, he said, is the comparatively high number of applications that carry a risk for the execution’s quality. “We have to be more selective, whether the application is effective in supporting services and has an impact. Additionally, it may create opportunities for startups to work with us,” he stated.

In the event, which was attended by creative industry actors in Malang City and its surroundings, Pandu also presented the super app recently launched by Diskominfo Malang as an effort to streamline various applications into one application. “Malang Mbois is an innovative single portal for integrated public services,” he explained, introducing the app.

The Malang Mbois application was launched to provide convenience for the public to access various digital services of the Malang City Government. Being a super app, Malang Mbois that offers a plethora of features including information and news services, population, licensing and local taxes, emergencies, CCTV, aspirations and complaints, tourism, MSMEs, Malang City Tour, and other easily explorable features and information.

“We are extremely open to feature updates. Please feel free to provide suggestions from our fellow creative economy actors for us to colaborate on. Because there are also creative economy features that can be filled in. Hopefully it will help to strengthen information security and support the digital creative economy ecosystem. We realize we can’t do it alone,” he concluded. (ari/yon)
